BJ’s interest in law began in high school. She lived in
Juneau, Alaska, where she worked throughout her high school
years for Ely, Guess, and Rudd Law Firm as an office assistant
and court runner. She left Alaska to pursue other
opportunities after graduation.
After being very adventurous for several years, she started
a family (4 girls!) and, at the same time, followed her heart
into volunteerism, working for the Edmonds and Bellevue school
districts, Washington Pilot’s Association, Children’s Hospital
Emergency Room, and serving as the volunteer leader of the
Washington “wing” of Angel Flight West. Finally, she
found her dream volunteer job: being foster mom of children
newborn to five years.
BJ returned to her legal interests in 2002 when she
obtained her Paralegal Certificates I and II. She followed
those up with an Evidence Law class, a most enjoyable
experience for her…and a great way to relate to her
lawyer-husband!
Finally, she landed in Friday Harbor and is very excited to
get back to law once again, working as an assistant and cruise
director at Brandli Law.
