Steve is a graduate of the University of Washington School of
Law in 2006 where he received High Honors, graduating in the
top 5% of his class. He received his Bachelor’s of
Science Degree in 1985 from the University of California,
Irvine. Steve served two years for the San Juan County
Prosecuting Attorney as a criminal Deputy Prosecutor.
Prior to that, Steve helped provide public defense for The
Tulalip Tribes. Steve has served as a law clerk for the
State of Washington Court of Appeals in Tacoma and for the
honorable Judge James K. Singleton of the Federal District
Court of Alaska. He also worked for a summer at Holland
& Knight, a large legal firm that at the time had an office in
Seattle.
Steve moved to the Northwest shortly after graduating from
college. He married his lovely wife, BJ, in 1995, and
they have raised four children together. Steve has
always enjoyed volunteering his time, having served as a Court
Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) where he represented
children in dependency court proceedings, and as a volunteer
income tax preparer for the VITA program of the IRS.
Steve also joined his wife to head the Washington State “wing”
of Angel Flight West, a group of pilots that provides free
non-emergency air transportation for medical patients.
Steve enjoys photography and electronics. He hikes
and backpacks, recently losing to his daughter in a race up
Mount Constitution. He is a licensed pilot, although he
presently is not flying. He is especially proud to be
living on our beautiful islands. |
